Police in Ghaziabad, India, alleged four gang members recorded a Canada-based Indian victim on a Facebook Messenger video call, made sexually explicit AI videos of the victim, and demanded $50,000 while threatening to circulate them. Police said AI sextortion videos were found on the suspects' phones.
What this means for youCriminals can now fake explicit videos from an ordinary video call and use them to demand money. If you get such a threat, do not pay, keep the messages, and report it to the police.
