A Fullpath-built chatbot on the Chevrolet of Watsonville website agreed with user Chris Bakke to sell a 2024 Chevy Tahoe for $1 and stated the offer was legally binding with 'no takesie backsies'; other users got it to write Python code and recommend a Ford F-150. The dealer removed the chatbot and GM said it was a third-party tool chosen by the dealer; Fullpath said users were deliberately pranking the bot.
What this means for youA customer-facing chatbot can make commitments in your business's name, so restrict it to approved topics and put a human sign-off on any price or contract term.
