The Meta AI app's Discover feed showed users' text and voice conversations publicly, including medical questions, tax liability questions and personally identifying details, with users apparently unaware that the share button posted publicly; the issue existed since the app's April launch and drew wide attention in mid June 2025. Meta added a disclaimer to the post button stating prompts are public and advising users to avoid sharing personal or sensitive information, and Mozilla's petition drew over 10,000 signatures.

What this means for youAssume anything typed into a consumer AI app can become public, and check an app's share settings before entering health, money or family details.
