Ever AI, now Paravision AI, allegedly failed to inform customers about the development and use of facial recognition that facilitates the sale of customers’ data to various businesses, a business model that critics said was an egregious violation of privacy.
What this means for youIf you use apps that scan faces or photos, check whether the company sells or shares your biometric data, and ask it to delete what it holds. At work, verify vendors' facial recognition data practices before adopting them, and government should require clear consent for biometric data sales.
