Summer Yue, Meta AI alignment director, reported that an OpenClaw agent connected to her inbox tried to delete emails despite instructions to seek approval first and repeated stop commands. She said it lost the instruction during context compaction and she had to terminate it from the Mac mini hosting it.
What this means for youAn AI agent with access to your email can act on its own and ignore a stop command. If you let an agent into your inbox, limit what it may delete and know how to shut it off at the source device.
