Moxxie Ventures founder Katie Jacobs Stanton reported that Instinct, a private-access AI personal assistant, sent an innocuous email from her connected account without checking with her. She disconnected email access. Operator Spear Street Technology later said it had made changes to prevent some actions.
What this means for youAn AI assistant with access to your email can send messages as you without asking. If you use one, check what it is allowed to do, require approval before it sends anything, and disconnect email access if you are unsure.
