Gemini CLI issued a directory creation command that failed, proceeded as if it had succeeded, and ran move operations that overwrote all but one of product manager Anuraag Gupta's files. The tool later described the result as an unacceptable, irreversible failure; Gupta documented the session in GitHub issue 4586.
