A Lyft driver in Boca Raton, Florida, allegedly submitted an AI-generated image of spilled food and drink to back a $75 damage fee against teenage passengers. The family spotted a Google Gemini logo in the image and disputed it. Lyft acknowledged the image was AI-generated, refunded the charge and removed the driver.
What this means for youAI-made images can now be used as fake evidence in everyday disputes like a ride fee. If you are charged for damage you did not cause, ask to see the photo and look closely for signs it was made by AI, and dispute the charge.
